Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser does all the work on your own device, so your images never reach a server.

Why did my PNG become a WebP?

PNG is lossless, so it barely shrinks. WebP keeps transparency and is usually far smaller. Tick the option to keep PNG if you need that format, though it saves much less.

What happens to photo metadata?

Metadata such as GPS location and camera details is removed from the new file, and the picture stays the right way up.
